Louisville Success

I got to meet and speak with Wesley Korir! He grew up in Kenya, and came to the US to go to college at UofL and run for them. He won the Los Angeles Marathon in 2009, and set a new record while doing it! Since he is a college graduate, he now runs professionally for Nike. I'll start with some take away notes that I had from all the speakers.

Wesley Korir said, "The devil is always breathing heavy behind us, but we need to concentrate on the glory of God that is ahead of us." "Live your own life to become successful."

Denny Crum quoted many things by John Wooden, his former basketball coach:

"Drink deeply from good books - especially the Bible."

"The book you don't read won't help."

"Learn from the mistakes of others, you'll never live long enough to make them all yourself."

Kristen Sauder:
"Successful marriages and families do not succeed by public opinion but by firm conviction."

"It is much more important to be the right person than to marry the right person."
