Photo Session Proofs

I was so surprised to have a voice message last night saying that Abigail had completed the editing of our photos today, and they were available to see!  I should have the entire CD by the end of the week.  Without further ado:

Photo Shoot

My sister came up to do my hair and makeup for our photo shoot with Fleur de Lis Photography.  Abagail was wonderful!  I loved every part of the shoot.  She has a great eye for detail.  I cannot wait to get the pictures back!  I am glad we chose the seminary.  There were so many great spots to capture!

Amber took these pictures of us together before we left.  Props are given to HH for getting up early on a day that he could sleep in and not complaining in the slightest about going to do a photo shoot.

I've read on some marriage blogs that doing a photo shoot is a way to cultivate romance.  I think this is true.  It was a very romantic time for us.  :)

We saw Brad Paisley last night in concert.

Work that Job, but Don't Work Your Life Away...

My new Dansko tennis shoes:

My kids loved them.  They are very comfortable.  :)

We went to Doc Crows.  It is a new restaurant down by the YUM Center.  They have southern food, and it is very nicely decorated.  I love trying new places to eat.

I had crab cakes for an appetizer, then pulled pork tacos with mac and cheese and braised greens.  YUM!

View from our table...

The restaurant is much larger than what it appears!

I love taking pictures together!

We went to the wrong theater, but were able to get roasted pecans before heading to the right theater.  The Peking Acrobats were amazing.  We had second row tickets.  This doesn't normally happen for us.  I am more about us being able to attend more quantity events than having awesome seats.  We lucked out on this, since I thought we were sitting in the balcony.

During a particularly challenging part of the routine, I gasped "WOW."

HH comes back not missing a beat and says, "Yes, but can they organize a guided reading group?"

I love this man!!!

Woot Woot! Brad Paisley on Saturday!!!

HH likes old music....but one singer we both like is Brad Paisley.  I'd been going back and forth about getting tickets for a few weeks to this Saturday's concert.  I told him I really wanted to go with him to a concert where he could enjoy the music, and not just be going to be with me.

Lovey Dovey Valentine's Day Recap

I was sure ready to see HH at 5:00 when he came to get me from school!  :)  Our destination was Jeff Ruby's.

I love the show on the Food Network called "The Best Thing I Ever Ate."  Last night, I did indeed have the best ice cream I had ever ate.  It was a cherry ice cream.  I couldn't eat it all, but man if my mind could have over ruled my stomach, I wouldn't have left two-thirds of it there.  HH had popcorn ice cream.  I tried his too.

When we got in, I found this.  (HH walked up before me.)  Two glasses that had been chilled filled with Diet Mountain Dew, and a box of candy PACKED with my favorites.  Each little square had 2-5 pieces depending on how many HH could fit into it.

HH also offered me the last rose.

What a great Valentine's Day!!!

Valentine's Day Gifts

I am forever thankful to the Happy Home Fairy for this Candy Gram idea!  HH loved it!!!  :)  He got four small cards, and a new set of earbuds.  The cats had played with his previous pair, and they no longer worked properly.

Message in a Bottle (Complete with ocean music in the background from You Tube!)

I love this smile!  I love when I make this smile happen!

I had asked HH if I could give him his Valentine Day stuff tonight, since I would feel more fresh than doing so tomorrow.  I will be getting his things tomorrow.

I will say that HH has taken it upon himself as part of my present to rewrite the lyrics to "White and Nerdy" by Weird Al.  He personalized the entire song, and sang it to me yesterday.  I loved it!

The Benefit: Remembering a Life

My sister organized these photos to display at the benefit.  Also, on each table, there was a framed photo of him with the kids and herself.

This was the auction room.  I had never been to a live auction.  That was kinda cool to see.  HH and I didn't bid on anything, but it was fun listening to the auctioneer.

I only got to snap one picture from my camera throughout the night.  My mom had put me in charge of her camera, and she expects a LOT of pictures to be taken when she does that.

My mom took these towards the end of the night of HH and I:

These pictures were taken pretty late into the evening, and we had a long day of planning/setting up.  Fatigue had certainly set in for me.  HH was a live wire, and was ready to go for more.

There were over 300 people who came out to the benefit.  I appreciate all the love and support people showed towards my sister and family.  The day was really long, but the end result was a very rewarding feeling.

Marriage ROCKS: Valentine's Edition

We attended our fourth Marriage Rocks event!  They had a special guest singer Bebo Norman there, which made me very excited since he wrote a song that HH and I had played at our wedding.

HH motioning me to join him!

I love fondue!!!

The singer said a lot of interesting things about his walk with God and his marriage.  He has been married for seven years, and one of the things that he found most profound was how you marry one person, but that that person evolves and changes as life happens to them.  Lots of good stuff to think about.
