Scaling Back....But a Good Thing

I talked with Ben last night. We are going to scale back a bit on our time together. We are still extremely happy together, but he needs time to study. It was great spending so much time together in the beginning to really start to get to know one another. Now I want to still spend time with my smokin' hottie, but I also need time for other things....I want to cultivate a few new friendships with coworkers, train for this mini-marathon, scrapbook with my mom, etc. I have always struggled with balance in my life, and I think I need a little bit of balance in the relationship.

He did not bring up anything about time spent together, etc only that he needed to study more. Just in reflecting about everything this morning, I'm ok with us not spending every waking moment together on the weekend.

Although, I am delighted that he will be here in a few minutes to spend some time with me this evening! In the morning it is the Family Fun and Fitness Walk! :)

Blue Man Group

The Blue Man Group was awesome last night! :) I think something that I will remember is that the man sitting by me didn't look disgusted when I went to sit down. Before in the past, people have gotten pissy because of my size, and that didn't happen last night.

I am pretty tired from the weekend, but overall it was good. Especially when I found out my friend's mom is going to make it.

I've been mulling over the concept of indulgence the past month. I am going to try to write about it soon. There is so much there that I have been thinking.

Back to the Salt Mines....

Vacation is over, and it is back to work this morning for me. I have to work in Frankfort at the Department of Education today. This morning I will be presenting a 185 page power point presentation that I have developed to the other 11 people who have my job across the state. They will get to tear it apart, and then I will regroup and revise it from there. Days like these remind me that I really am an adult. I will definitely need a coffee this morning.

Since losing weight, I have so much more confidence in getting up in front of groups. Before, I always felt as if they were staring at me, only thinking of how huge I was. Now I feel that people are actually listening to the content that I am delivering. There is one graduate professor, Coach South, I owe a huge debt of gratitude for as far as my public speaking abilities. He really worked with me, as they were HORRIBLE. He saw a gem, and really encouraged me to keep trying the public speaking. It is so much easier now than it used to be.

I don't like days I have to travel out of town, because I feel like it throws my eating off track. Today, I'm just going to stick with chicken salad and hard boiled eggs for lunch.

Some highlights of January that I am looking forward to:

* Getting to see Phantom of the Opera with some friends
* Seeing an old high school friend that now lives in Portland, Oregon (there are also some trepidations about that, which I will elaborate on later)
* The annual "Girls Just Want to Have Fun Weekend"

Interesting

When you buy gas at the pump (you almost have to now if you live in a large city like me) things such as chips or other snacks don't follow you back into the car. It is better for me just to not go in gas station stores, just another place for temptation that I don't need.

I think I would like to get my feet measured by a nice shoe store. I know that I have went down in shoe size, I'm just not sure by how much. On one pair of dress shoes the difference is quite substantial.

Nothing else of note going on. I need to work on getting a social life.

Feeling Good

I feel good. I exercised today when I got home from work. I have decided that I prefer exercising in the morning, but when I travel, evening is really better.

I bought some new clothes tonight. Since I have purged about 3/4 of my closet, I needed a few new things. I know I won't be able to wear them for forever, but it really does build up my self confidence. I got some 18/20 tops, and I got a size 24 black pant suit.

My weight is still at 274. I lost ten pounds thought from last Monday to this Monday. I suspect I will stay at 274 for a bit longer. I know the body has to adjust. I still don't have a clue where my body will be come time for my vacation in November. Since I will be going someplace WARM, I will probably have to buy some clothes off of Ebay. 75 days until I am on vacation!!!!

This weekend, I am going to the tanning bed. I am also getting a pedicure. I am excited that next Tuesday I get to have lunch with an old friend I have not seen in a long time.
