Daily Bread
I am pretty proud of the bread making experience. This was the first assignment in my baking class. I've never made bread. It seemed intimidating, and I am not a very patient person. It kept getting moved to the bottom of my culinary list. It was interesting that this was the first thing that was chosen by our instructor.
I was priviledged to have my Math assistant be a skilled breadmaker. She stayed after school with me to get the dough right. She instructed me on simple things that may be obvious to those who have made bread for years, but I needed it. I'm looking forward to working more with bread.
The best part was one of my students asking me how the bread turned out.
I love the essay, "Made by Hand," from NPR's This I Believe series. When I first heard it, I cried.

Saturday
Last Friday, I had two students who were in "Blackbeard the Pirate" play that our school district put on. HH and I went to watch it. I had HH go and pick up flowers for the girls. We knew several other students from last year and working at the church.
Lucky Charms Treats
Milk Chocolate and Macadamia Nut Cookies
I am reading The One and Only Ivan to my class right now. They are loving it, and so am I. I actually started reading it to HH.
Today, I am starting a 6-week E-Course called "Sacramental Baking." I am really excited about looking at the everyday aspects of my cooking and my spiritual practice.
HH scored major bonus points the other day while in Rapid City by calling to ask if I wanted him to "Face Time" shop at my favorite clothing store.
This little beauty arrived in the mail yesterday. I plan on jamming out to it and having a relaxing Saturday.

Food Worth Waiting For...
Visit to Kentucky
Ben and I really enjoyed Face Time on our phones.
My Gran and I.
My sister would not let me take any pictures of or with her. She is almost due with her baby, and wasn't feeling it.
Like a true teacher, I graded papers all the way back from Rapid City. I still wasn't caught up, but it did feel good to have a head start.
