This is the second item that I've made recently that I feel is a very "light" dessert.  Christmas is a time when people pour out the heavy stuff, and sometimes you just need something light. Something to Warm Your Heart....

Christmas Cookie Packages

I started out with the idea of doing one cookie package for my sister-in-law.  We've gotten much closer this past year, even with the distance between us.  Since we had blizzard conditions, church was cancelled along with my Ugly Christmas Sweater Party.  
I decided that I would make six packages and put four types of cookies in them.  HH had fun at the Post Office!

Voting stations were set up for the different awards.  We were going to play The Happy Home Fairy's Paper Plate game (I did this with my students last year), and a Name that Tune game via Youtube.

It's My Principal's Birthday And We'll Party Without Her...

My principal's birthday was Thursday.  HH and I stayed up late after the church cookie swap to make her treats.  I had bought some retro tie-dyed plates, cups, and napkins.  The kids had made their cards.  It was going to be sweet.  Then, my principal got called out on an emergency, so we partied without her and took pictures. Sunday Potluck

Vegetable Pizza

Pear Cake
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil 2 cups sugar 3 eggs 3 cups flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon  1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups chopped pears (large can drained) 1 cup chopped pecans
1.  Mix ingredients. 2.  Put into bundt pan. 3.  Bake at 325 for an hour and 20 minutes.
Glaze: Powdered sugar  small portion of pear juice from can
An elder member of our church gave me this recipe to try about six weeks ago, and has asked me about it almost nonstop since then.  It does smell delightful.

This is some of THE most amazing soup I've had in a long time.  It beats anything I've bought in a restaurant hands down.  You MUST give it a try.
