For Christmas I want.....a day where I can leave work right after work is over! Enough of the meetings.....PLEASE!
I also would like for the students to stop licking the sugar block. I'm not sure where it is hidden, but they are so hyped up!
In other news....
The Rockettes were amazing, and I can't wait to see them again! :)
I'm making the new tuna salad recipe for dinner tonight.
I came home to a clean living room.....I love HH!

Whirlwind Saturday and Sunday
As soon as HH got done chomping down his cookies, we packed up and headed to Eastern Kentucky...Warfield, KY specifically. It was almost a four hour haul. I'm proud to say I slept roughly three hours of the trip. When I was awake, I was reading HH funny parts of a teacher book on my Kindle.
The Pastor Serach Committee took us out to dinner and we made small talk. That night we returned to the motel, which the lobby was fully stocked with any type of hunting or fishing magazine you could ever want. (The place is known nationally for elk hunting. Sadly, we did not see any elk.)
On Sunday the service went well, and afterwards there was a huge potluck. These people can seriously cook. We had more small talk, but they didn't ask Ben any specific questions about his beliefs, etc. I know they were interested in him, I guess they prefer to take their time in getting to know a pastor. They sent us home with a plate full of homemade fudge!
We head back, and I proceed to sleep most of the trip back. We ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse, and I couldn't wait to get back to the recliner. Although I slept a decent amount, I did not feel well rested. I was able to get some major z's at the house, and I feel much better.
We had a light dusting of snow this morning. I have nine more days of school until it is break time!

Cookies are YUMMY!!!
HH showing his blackish teeth from the cookie dye.
HH taking a bite off of the toy soldier's head!
The cookie decorating class was great, but missing my student. :( I called her on the way to her house, and of course the cell phone was, "temporarily disconnected." (This is quite a common theme in my school, or changing your cell phone number every other week.) I knew exactly where she lived, so I go knock on the door. I hear her younger sister inside yelling for mom. I wait about five minutes. I figured she might be getting ready, it was 9:15 in the morning, so I was being polite. I knock again, I hear the TV on in the background, and the same younger sibling yelling for her mom. I again wait several minutes. I knock a third time, to which I hear a man yell, "GO AWAY." I respond by saying I am Haley's teacher, and her mother and I had made arrangements for us to go out together today. I quickly wrote a note on a piece of paper and left. I was not taking a chance of letting him answer the door, because who knows how I would be greeted (or with what type of weapon).
I am sadden by these events. I have never had a parent cancel on me when I was doing something SPECIAL for THEIR kid, even the really crummy parents. Sometimes when you are nice you really get burned, but that is the chance you take.

Clearing the Air...
I called the person I needed to talk with about the problems we had been having. It felt so good to clear the air. I don't want to have a bad relationship with her. Confrontation is hard for me to handle. I can be a very emotional person, and I often way over analyze comments.

Bound to Come Some Troubles
I've been really hurt this past week over a series of three deep comments. I'm not going to go into any more detail yet (when I get wordpress set up I will most likely). The lyrics of this song have been a great comfort to me.
All Good Things....
Must come to an END!!!
My love affair with Diet Sunkist and Diet Mountain Dew. I was talking with the dentist today, and asking her about the citric acid, and with my genetic lot on teeth as it is, I really need to go back to water only.
My mom, sister, and I went to see "The Blind Side" this evening. This was an amazing movie. I watched the real man and mother it was based on in an interview with CNN. I was very girly and cried a few times in the movie. It makes me examine the impact that I have on a daily basis with students from a high poverty area. The impact that I make is very powerful.
We went out to dinner after the movie, and my mom was really hard on our server. It really got to me. I went back to the restaurant later, apologized to the server, and gave her a proper tip. I don't know what got into my mom, but it really just wasn't cool at all.

Packed Day!!!
Getting back into the swing of things for work has been challenging, but do-able. I am "off" today, but as per usual, I have four million places to go. I am starting my last crown though today. I am very excited about that. ALMOST DONE!
I went to cooking class last night and learned how to make French Onion soup. It wasn't really as hard as I expected it to be. I also tried escargo, and it was pretty decent.
I am probably going to start a wordpress blog, or switch everything on here over to it. Why? You can password protect entries there. There are some things that I would like to include on the blog, but simply can't because of lack of privacy. Blogger doesn't have a way to password protect an entry, and this is a standard feature at wordpress.
